The gourd, green when it is tender, dark when mature, is in the shape of a bomb shell. This breed is a mid or late-maturing variety. The first pistillate flower in normal growth is generally born after 16-18 leaves, and others grow at intervals of two to three leaves. The tender melon is green and the mature melon is black and shaped like a bomb shell, so farmers also call it a shell-shaped black-skinned melon. The gourd has unique features: high-quality, large, thick without hollows, and it smells like a natural fragrance when cooked.
